My opinion on stance;

I don't particularly like it most of the time . However, I completely appreciate it. I also look at it like, whatever gets people into loving cars as a passion is fine with me.

That's your opinion, your opinion is your choice, and that's fine with me. I'm just posting my opinion.

Actually pretty much the same as you. I like it more when it is actually functional but whatever gets people in to cars or floats their boat.

We need a "sarcasm" font.

It can look really good and I have an appreciation for that, but it is a purely aesthetic thing. I don't think stance gets people into cars if they wern't otherwise interested, it gets people into fashion.

Picture some kid,

He would have drove the family minivan, bought saves up all his money to buy a civic. He grows up putting all his money into it and loves it. As he gets older he gets another car and another car, and eventually he decides he's too old for that and buys a sports car. He grew up like us, loving his car and putting every penny he earned into it, good for him. I'm not saying he's a crazy enthusiast like us, but he loves cars or what he can do to them, so great for him!

How can you say it doesn't get them into cars? Do you have any examples to back that up?

They buy the car, spend time, money and energy on the car. Then they take it to meets and hang out with other people into cars.

But no they aren't into cars at all.

Go flip through Stanceworks forum and see if you still believe that. There's more than a few guys over there that started with little knowledge of cars, but are completely into it now.

Your opinion is fine, to a lot of people it is purely aesthetic, but the next statement you made was a slight to anyone who has come into the wider car scene through the stance scene.

Here I'll give you a great example of someone who came into the greater car scence through the stance scene. Taryn Croucher .

My second statement was a cynical generalization, a poorly considered one.

People are enthusiasts for different reasons, it doesn't make them any less of one because of the reason. I'm sure some of my reasons are different from yours, but we're not any different in our passion even though we may express it in different ways.

If stance is indeed what triggers an interest then that is certainly a good thing and I would never hold it against someone.

Thank you for making that reply. There are a lot of people that would never do that.

If even one person can read this exchange and realize, 'Hey, maybe the guy with a different style isn't so different than me.' I'd say it was a good thing.
